Privacy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data PlansPilot (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the PlansPilot web application at planspilot.com, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the rights you have over it.

Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, password hash, preferred language and units, and role (homeowner, architect, builder).
  • Project data: design briefs, plots, floor plans, 3D models, drawings, renders, comments, and other content you create or upload.
  • Workspace data: workspace names, memberships, invited collaborators, and roles.
  • Usage and technical data: IP address, browser and device metadata, pages viewed, and error diagnostics used to keep the service reliable and secure.
  • Billing data: when you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects billing details. We store subscription status and invoices, not full card numbers.

How we use your data

  • To provide and operate the service (authentication, project storage, AI generation, exports).
  • To improve reliability, performance, and security (diagnostics, abuse prevention, rate limiting).
  • To communicate about your account, verification, password resets, and important product changes.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

AI processing

Design briefs and prompts you submit to AI features are sent to our AI provider(s) to generate concepts, drawings, and renders on your behalf. We do not sell your project content, and we do not use it to train third-party foundation models.

Sharing

We share data only with vendors that help us run PlansPilot (hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, payment processing, AI inference, error monitoring), and only to the extent needed to provide the service. We may disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

Retention

We keep account and project data while your account is active. Deleted projects are retained in a soft-deleted state for 30 days before permanent removal. You can request account deletion at any time.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access is scoped by row-level security so members of one workspace cannot see another workspace’s data. Passwords are stored as salted hashes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us at privacy@planspilot.com to exercise these rights.

Children

PlansPilot is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
